JILL YAN - Piraeus Club Academy

JILL YAN

Mohini Dey

Mohini Dey (b. 1996, Kolkata) is an acclaimed Indian bass prodigy, recognized for her work with A.R. Rahman, Gaan Bangla’s Wind of Change, and Coke Studio India. Introduced to music by her father, she began performing at age 11, mentored by jazz legend Louis Banks and drummer Ranjit Barot.

She released her self-titled debut album in 2023 and is a member of MaMoGi alongside Mark Hartsuch and Gino Banks. Mohini has collaborated with world-renowned artists including Steve Vai, Jordan Rudess, Zakir Hussain, Greg Howe, Marco Minnemann, and Willow Smit - joining Smith’s band in 2024.

Jeremy Colson

Jeremy Colson is a world-renowned drummer. Although best known for his work with guitar virtuoso Steve Vai, Jeremy has toured across the globe with a long list of diverse bands and musicians, including Billy Idol, Marty Friedman, and Michael Schenker. In addition to touring, Jeremy is a sought after session drummer who has recorded professionally with a wide range of rock, metal and pop acts.

Jeremy’s distinctive style of drumming originates from his love of progressive rock and metal. He cites legendary Rush drummer, Neil Peart, as among his many influences. Jeremy is an essentially self-taught musician. He credits his childhood obsession with progressive rock and odd-time signatures for his ability to master the intricate details of the Vai music catalog. Jeremy blends his appreciation and understanding of progressive drumming with his passion for «straight-ahead» rock and metal to create an unmistakable and powerful sound that is uniquely his own.

Jeremy began his tenure with Steve Vai in 2002. After countless international tours and appearances, three full-length studio albums, two concert DVDs, and Steve’s Grammy nomination for Now We Run from the iconic live CD Where the Wild Things Are, Jeremy remains his “go to” drummer more than two decades later.

Today Jeremy continues to perform as well as teaching drums to students of all ages. When he’s not drumming he loves exercising, being in nature, and hanging out with his cats.

Jill Yan

The Jill Yan group started around 1999, I could qualify my music as «Rock-Fusion Instrumental» or, like suggested by a commentary on YouTube, as «Alien Rock».

I released nine album since then and played gigs in Europe. I usually play as a trio, bass, drums and guitar. My influences could go from Allan «GOD» Holdsworth, Strapping Young Lad, Chick Corea, Deftones, Steve Vai, hardcore bands, traditional flamenco and arabic and ethnic music and so many others, but, anyway, the rules, either when I compose or play is : there is no rules. In fact, I just play what I want without compromising and I believe that the music I play is like I’m.

The most important is to remember music is just a way to share emotions, so this is what I’m trying to do, to be myself and to share whatever I have to share.
