VOICES
by Teatr Brama (PL)
“Voices” is a performance that blends elements of theatre and music, with singing as its primary form of expression. The creators draw on polyphonic songs rooted in diverse cultural traditions. Each song opens a door to a different world of emotions, atmosphere, and stories - creating a mosaic of human sensitivity. The value of community and shared experience becomes a source of comfort. Polyphony has the power to embrace and move the soul. Instead of speaking about what hurts, we try to sing it out. We gather in a quiet ritual to cry, to comfort ourselves and one another. We seek a pause for meditation and contemplation, to look inward - wanting to become poetry. In a landscape filled with light and color from the four corners of the world, people come together for a great gathering, to sing in unison. A mysterious cosmos of symbols and constellations emerges. The voices lead them into the depths - into pain and loss - and from there, they find the path back to the light. No knowledge of the sung languages is needed to experience this journey.
